Any rules relating to the site you are working on must be followed. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action being taken or a client requesting that you no longer attend the site. 

Identification and Security Passes

Some sites have identification passes. If so, please ensure that you keep your pass with you at all times. Please note that all security passes and keys must be returned to site if you no longer work for the company.

Visitors

In the interest of safety and security, no personal visitors are allowed on the premises without the prior consent of your manager or Client. Children under 16 are not allowed in our kitchens.

Working with Relatives

The employment of relatives in any one location must be authorised by a senior manager before the position is offered.

 

Relationships with colleagues is permitted in line with our Business Conduct Policy, however, you must notify your manager and then we may need to make changes to responsibilities particularly if the relationship is between a manager and a member of their team.

Car Parking

Employees may park their cars and motorcycles in designated employees parking areas in accordance with the rules for the site. Please note that at some sites employees will be required to park in public carparks. The Company does not accept any liability for damage. It will be the individual’s responsibility to ensure that they pay any carpark costs and any fines that result in non-compliance with the carpark rules.

Internet Use

Where an internet connection is provided at your place of work, it is a condition of your employment, that you use this facility for business use only. You must not download content from any source without the explicit written permission of the IT department. Depending on your location this may need to be written permission from the client’s IT department as well as Wilson Vale.

Social Networking

This policy deals with the use of all forms of social media, including but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Facebook, X, all other social networking sites and all other internet postings, including blogs.

 

Employees must not post disparaging or defamatory statements about:

 

(a) Our organisation or its employees

(b) Our clients or their employees

(c) Suppliers and Vendors

 

Employees must not use social media during their work times.

 

Employees who breach any part of this clause will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

 

This will apply to the use of social media for both business and personal purposes, whether during office hours or otherwise. The policy applies regardless of whether the social media is accessed using our IT facilities and equipment or equipment belonging to members of employees.

 

Any employee suspected of committing a breach of this policy will be required to co-operate with our investigation, which may involve handing over relevant passwords and login details.

 

Employees may be required to remove internet postings which are deemed to constitute a breach of this policy.  Failure to comply with such a request may in itself result in disciplinary action.

 

Social media should never be used in a way that breaches any of our other policies. If an internet post would breach any of our policies in another forum, it will also breach them in an online forum.

 

Personal use of social media is never permitted during working time or by means of our computers, networks and other IT resources and communications systems.

Personal Responsibility and Behaviour

You are expected to be responsible and professional at all times, this includes your behaviour at site, the way you speak to our customers and colleagues and the way you behave whilst working.

 

You are responsible for the tools, protective clothing, uniforms (your uniform must be worn at all times when on the premises) and other Company and client property issued to you. You will be expected to treat the premises and equipment with care and to follow the methods and instructions for correct use at all times.

Personal Telephone use

Personal Mobile Telephones

Mobile phones should not be used during your shift unless you have had permission from your manager. You will not be permitted to carry a mobile phone during working hours without the express permission of your manager.

 

Instant Messaging (e.g. Texting/Whats App/Snap Chat…)

​

You are not permitted to message during your shifts, unless you have had permission from your manager.

 

Company Mobile Telephones

 

Where appropriate, Wilson Vale may provide employees with a mobile telephone. This equipment remains, at all times, the property of Wilson Vale and must be returned immediately upon request and/or upon termination of employment. The Company Mobile Phone Policy must be adhered to at all times.

 

Landlines

In cases of emergency, we will accept personal telephone calls for employees. If you wish to make an outgoing telephone call, you must have permission from your manager.

Taking Photographs

These will only be permitted if authorised by your manager. In schools, photographs can only be taken if authorised by the school. No photographs can be taken of any child on site.

 

Please note that at some of our sites you will not be able to take a mobile phone onto the site and also that you will not be allowed to take any photographs.

 

Prior to taking photographs of colleagues, check that they have given permission for their photos to be shared under the GDPR photo consent form.

Alcohol Policy

No alcohol may be consumed on site or whilst on Company business. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes training courses or Company meals. Please note this also extends to driving Company vehicles. If you drive a Company vehicle then you must not consume any alcohol and then drive. Please note the Company cannot accept responsibility for any legal proceedings that arise if you contravene this.

 

If you are or appear to be, under the influence of alcohol, you will not be allowed to enter or remain on the premises, and this will be treated as an allegation of Gross Misconduct which may result in dismissal.

Drugs Policy

You are not allowed to bring drugs onto the premises unless they have been prescribed by a GP. Please inform your manager of any prescribed medicines or over the counter preparations that may affect you i.e. drowsiness etc.

 

If you are or appear to be, under the influence of drugs, you will not be allowed to enter or remain on the premises, and this will be treated as alleged Gross Misconduct which may result in dismissal.
