Safeguarding Policy

 Wilson Vale provides the management of the catering services within the Client premises and as part of our ongoing policy we recognise that it is always unacceptable for a vulnerable child or adult to experience abuse of any kind. We recognise that our staff will commit to work towards identifying any potential abuse to the Chef Manager, Area Manager or appropriate person from the Client site.

Our staff are committed to helping to provide protection for vulnerable adults or children whilst they are working on site.

WE AIM TO SAFEGUARD VULNERABLE ADULTS AND CHILDREN:

​

  • Treating them with respect

  • Adopting the safeguarding policy of the School or Unit

  • Recruiting employees in accordance with Wilson Vale policy – ensuring the necessary DBS checks and updates in conjunction with the policy in the Unit

  • Sharing concerns with appropriate personnel on site

  • Undertaking Induction for all new staff and agency staff – unit to undertake safeguarding training as part of that process)

  • Review policy and good practice as agreed with the Unit.

ALL EMPLOYEES WILL:

​

  • Treat all personnel on site with respect

  • Set a good example of behaviour and conduct

  • Be aware of how their actions and behaviour could be interpreted

  • Do not engage in physical contact with vulnerable employees or children

  • Operate within the Schools/ home’s guidance

  • Challenge unacceptable behaviour

  • Report all suspicions or allegations of abuse
